Tragic train accident in Taiwan, 36 people killed, 72 injured

 

There is news of a painful train accident in Taiwan. A major accident occurred due to derailment of a train near the east coast of Taiwan, in which about 36 passengers were reported killed. Around 72 passengers are said to have been injured in this train accident in eastern Taiwan. This information was given by the news agency Reuters to the Ministry of Transport. According to reports, a truck came down through a steep cliff and the train coming out of the tunnel collided with it here.

According to Reuters, the government said that a train in Taiwan derailed after hitting a truck in the tunnel on Friday, killing at least 36 people and causing more than 72 injuries. In fact, the incident took place on Friday, around 9 am near the Torok George Scenic Area on the official holiday. According to the Fire Department, there were 350 passengers on the train. A rescue operation is being run to save the passengers. About 60 people have been admitted to the hospital. It is being told that this is the biggest train accident in three decades. 

With most of the train still stuck in the tunnel, passengers trying to exit are forced to climb doors, windows and roof to reach a safe place. The accident took place on Friday, around 9 am near the Toroko George Scenic Area on the official holiday.

According to the Halian County Rescue Department, the truck fell from the top as soon as the train came out of the tunnel, causing the most damage to the initial five coaches. Pictures and TV footage posted by people at the scene on the official Central News Agency website showed people climbing the open gate of a train compartment just outside the entrance to the tunnel. The inner part of a compartment is completely uprooted and falls on the side seat. The accident occurred on the first day of the four-day tomb sweeping festival.
